Platform services only
HireACare provides technology that allows independent users to create profiles, browse caregiver information, and request introductions. HireACare does not provide childcare, elder care, housekeeping, cooking, transportation, nursing, medical, or other household services.
No employment or agency relationship
HireACare is not the employer of any caregiver or family. HireACare does not hire, fire, schedule, pay, supervise, train, direct, or control users. Any employment or service relationship is created solely between the family and caregiver. HireACare is not a party to their agreement.
User-provided information
Profiles, photographs, work history, references, qualifications, availability, compensation expectations, and other information are supplied by users. HireACare may review submissions for platform compliance, but it cannot independently verify every statement, document, reference, credential, identity, or representation.
Independent screening and decisions
- Conduct interviews and identity verification.
- Check references and work history independently.
- Consider lawful background, driving-record, or credential checks when appropriate.
- Discuss duties, schedule, pay, benefits, privacy, transportation, emergencies, and household expectations in writing.
- Use independent judgment and discontinue contact if anything appears unsafe or misleading.
Employment, tax, wage, and immigration compliance
Families and caregivers are responsible for understanding and following all applicable federal, state, and local employment, wage, overtime, payroll, tax, workers’ compensation, insurance, immigration, work-authorization, and domestic-worker laws. HireACare does not provide legal, immigration, employment, payroll, or tax advice.
No medical or professional advice
HireACare is not a healthcare provider and does not provide medical, nursing, legal, tax, immigration, or other professional advice. Specialized care should be provided only by appropriately qualified and legally authorized individuals.
No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” HireACare does not warrant the accuracy of user information, suitability of any person, quality or safety of services, availability of work, compatibility, payment, uninterrupted access, or any particular outcome.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HireACare and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for losses or damages arising from user conduct, communications, hiring decisions, employment arrangements, caregiving or household services, payment disputes, injury, illness, property damage, theft, fraud, negligence, abuse, harassment, discrimination, misrepresentation, or unlawful acts. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Emergencies and illegal conduct
HireACare is not an emergency service. Contact 911 or the appropriate local authority when immediate help is required. Suspected crimes should be reported to law enforcement, and platform concerns may also be reported to HireACare.
